The free PS4 games list has been updated on the PlayStation Store, offering console owners new choices this weekend.
For no extra charge, PlayStation gamers can download and play some interesting new titles without the need of a PS Plus subscription.
Meanwhile, those who do have a PlayStation Plus account can enjoy some exclusive bonus packs and rewards.
All of them can be found on the PlayStation Store, including a demo for interactive novel Alternate Jake Hunter: DAEDALUS The Awakening of Golden Jazz, and a free items pack for Dauntless.
As mentioned above, Alternate Jake Hunter is a visual novel that was launched last week on the PlayStation Store.
The demo is currently available to download on PS4 and due to its recent launch, has only received a few reviews from PSN users.
The new game challenges players to solve the murder of the main character’s Grandfather, using a 360-degree investigation system for hunting down clues.
The new trial version of the game is a tiny download, meaning it will easily fit on your PS4 or PS4 Pro.
“A new chapter begins in the Detective Jinguji Saburo series,” the official game description reads.
“One month ago today, someone murdered Saburo’s grandfather, Kyosuke, while he was living in New York.
“He soon discovers that his grandfather’s last word was ‘Daedalus.’ What does it mean? Why was my grandfather killed?”
It should be noted that the new Alternate Jake Hunter demo may not be available for everyone to play on PS4 right now, depending on where you live, but there’s a good chance this will change in the near future.
And more demos are expected to be released on the PlayStation Store very soon, with plenty to choose from right now.
PS4 gamers looking for another free game to try out this weekend can download Dauntless from the PS Store.
The new F2P Monster Hunter experience went live on the PSN earlier this week and challenges players to hunt down giant Behemoths.
Gamers can team up with other PSN users, while it was recently confirmed that Dauntless is a Crossplay title.
This means you can also enjoy it with others on PC and Xbox One, while PS4 users don’t need a PS Plus account to access online multiplayer.
However, if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription, you can grab yourself some prized freebies. The Dauntless Model P Weapon Pack is a PS Plus exclusive and includes a list of handy items for tackling behemoths.
Dauntless gamers using PS Plus can arm themselves in Ostian steel with the following items included: Ostian Chain Blades, Repeaters, Falchion, War Axe, War Hammer, and a War Pike.
Another option available to those who want to try something new this weekend is an Overwatch free trial from Blizzard.
The good news is that while the trial started earlier this week, it isn’t scheduled to end until Tuesday, May 28. And while Overwatch is free to download this weekend, you will need a PS Plus subscription to play online.
The team brawler is currently celebrating its third anniversary, with a bunch of new skins and cosmetics available to earn through loot boxes.
And Blizzard is also trying their best to entice players to stick around after the free game trial ends by making it possible to keep all the new gear you unlock.
Gamers simply need to search for Overwatch on the PlayStation Store and select the free trial version for download to get involved in the action this weekend.
Other demos and free games available on the PlayStation Store this weekend, includes the recently updated FPS Warface, and a free demo version of Brawlout.
