Sony released a special PS4 bonus this weekend and fans won’t want to forget that it’s only around for a short amount of time.
As announced during the recent State of Play, PlayStation fans can head over to the PS Store and claim a brand new reward.
This includes the MediEvil demo, ahead of the game’s full release in October.
The new bonus does not require a PS Plus subscription and gives fans their first taste of gameplay from the remake.
The demo can be downloaded in many different languages and requires around 13GB of space to fit on a standard PS4 console.
The one big drawback for MediEvil fans is that it’s only available to play for a set amount of time.
Sony is allowing gamers to download it until October 6, meaning this weekend is the best time to start your adventure.
The tech giant has also confirmed that only a set amount of levels are available to play during the timed trial.
“The illustrious Sir Daniel Fortesque cordially invites you to try the MediEvil: Short-lived Demo, where you can hack, slash and blunder your way through Dan’s Crypt and The Graveyard – the first two levels of MediEvil,” a message from Sony confirms.
“Got something to prove? That sounds familiar… Look carefully around Sir Dan’s tomb to find an exclusive helmet which makes his life (or should that be death?) more difficult.
“This uniquely challenging armour can be acquired in this demo and carries through to the full game.
“Picking up Dan’s Helmet early within the demo will reward players with an extra challenge when equipped in the full game, so don’t miss out!
“Be sure to grab it while you can… this limited-time demo is decomposing fast.”
Sony has not revealed whether the exclusive MediEvil demo will be brought back following the launch of the full game.
Medievil is scheduled to launch on October 25 as an exclusive to the PlayStation platform.
There’s little chance of it appearing on the rival Xbox One console, although inclusion on PlayStation Now is a possibility.
It follows news of Sony’s plans to expand their popular PlayStation Hits range, making it possible to buy some of the company’s top titles at a reduced price.
These will be made available on October 4 and will be sold at select retailers in the UK.
A message from the tech giant reads: “PlayStation Hits keeps growing, PS4 fans can purchase anything from award-winning blockbusters to thrilling adventures and family favourites, for less.
“Three acclaimed PS4 titles will be available at a great new price starting 4th October, as the latest additions to the quickly expanding PlayStation Hits family: God of War, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Gran Turismo Sport.
“These amazing titles join over 40 iconic PS4 games, and recent additions* to the PlayStation Hits lineup, such as Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Gundam Versus, Fallout 4, Doom, Dishonored 2, The Evil Within and Wolfenstein: The New Order.
“The PlayStation Hits range is a great way to catch up on epic PS4 games, for €19.99 / £15.99 (RRP) through the PlayStation Store and select retailers across the region.”
