There’s been plenty of good news for Sony and their PS4 gamers this week without the big August 2019 reveal.
This isn’t expected to happen for quite some time and will likely end up being announced on the last day of the month.
Meanwhile, Sony has been offering a series of new sales and deals on their PSN and PlayStation Store.
The latest comes from Flash Deals on the US PS Store, as well as new discounts in the UK, some of which include additional PS Plus savings.
And PS4 gamers who are interested in the latest sales should be warned that many will be ending this week.
Right now, gamers can buy titles like A Plague Tale: Innocence and Batman: Arkham Knight at lower prices as part of the Flash Deals.
Gamers have until around 8am, PST, in the United States to grab any Flash Deal they like the look of.
After that, these discounts will disappear and won’t be replaced until Sony announces what they have planned.
Meanwhile, UK gamers can also head over to the PlayStation Store and grab their own bargains, although many of these don’t require a PS Plus membership.
Games like FIFA 19 and Battlefield 5 have been heavily discounted until July 24, with the deals set to disappear around 6pm in the evening.
While most gamers will be interested in savings on PS4 games, titles from the PS Vita and PS3 are also included.
There is also a separate sale going on in the UK which includes games like Strange Brigade, Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Railway Empire.
This PlayStation Store sales come with a PS Plus discount and looks set to run until July 24.
And it’s probably worth checking out if there are any random discounts and deals running on the US PlayStation Store too.
Letter Quest Remastered currently costs $1.99 to buy if you have a PS Plus account, along with a few other titles that will be disappearing on July 23.
It’s unclear how much busy these special sales bring in, although the latest data suggests that some may have proven very popular.
According to NPD data shared earlier this week, Marvel’s Spider-Man was back in the top ten charts in June, alongside some other great titles.
It was joined by God of War in the top 20 NPD Software list, no mean feat considering that hardware sales continue to drop.
The NPD’s Mat Piscatella shared the news on Twitter, adding: “Marvel’s Spider-Man returns to the top 10 in June, ranking as the seventh best-selling game of the month, and is the fifth best-selling title over the trailing 12 month period.
“Marvel’s Spider-Man continues to be the best-selling superhero game in U.S. history.
“Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled is PlayStation 4’s best-selling game of June 2019.
“Dollar sales of tracked video game software totalled $386 million in June 2019, declining 1 per cent when compared to a year ago. Year-to-date dollar sales of tracked video game software have increased 2 per cent, to $2.6 billion.
“The PS4 DualShock 4 Black Wireless Controller was the best-selling accessory of June 2019 and remains the best-selling accessory year to date.
“Hardware spending in June 2019 dropped 33 per cent when compared to a year ago, to $235 million.
“Year-to-date hardware spending has declined 20 per cent versus a year ago, to $1.3 billion. Nintendo Switch is the only platform showing year-on-year growth.”
It appears that recent PSN sales have helped boost some of Sony’s leading software offerings, with NPD data collected from both sales at retailers and digital data directly from publishers.
