The Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL were both launched in 2017 and offer Android fans one the cleanest and clutter-free experiences on the market.
With these devices running a totally pure version of Google’s popular mobile software, Pixel phones are some of the fastest, fluid and easiest to use.
Another reason why the Pixel 2 has been so popular is its camera which is still regarded as one of the best on a phone.
In fact, at the time of the initial review, camera testing firm DxO said: “The Google Pixel 2 is the top-performing mobile device camera we’ve tested, with a record-setting overall score of 98.”
Other features include a Snapdragon 835 processor, front-facing stereo speakers and an always-on display.
When the 5-inch Pixel 2 first went on sale it would have cost over £620 but that’s not the case any more.
Over the past year prices for this device have been tumbling and now there’s one of the cheapest ever deals on this phone.
Retailers, including Argos, have cut the cost of the Pixel 2 with prices now starting from just £359.95.
If you fancy the larger Pixel 2XL – which arrives with a 6-inch display and bigger 3,520mAh battery – then that phone is also on offer with it currently costing £399.95.
That’s quite a saving but these deals come as Google has revealed some shock news about this older flagship.
The US technology firm has just removed the Pixel 2 from its own store meaning you can no longer buy it directly from them.
It’s unclear if this now means other online stores will follow but it seems Google wants to focus all of its attention on the Pixel 3.
This phone launched in late 2018 and offers numerous updates over the Pixel 2 including more power via a Snapdragon 845 processor, better camera and the introduction of wireless charging.
Google has also improved the display on the Pixel 3 and 3XL with the larger of the two even getting an almost fully edge-to-edge 6.3-inch screen.
There’s no question that the Pixel 3 is a much-improved phone but it also arrives with a far higher price.
The standard Pixel 3 costs from £730 with the XL starting from £869 – that’s double the price of the Pixel 2.
