Huawei P20 Pro debuted back in March last year, meaning the phone is almost a year old.

However, the device remains one of the best Android products around thanks to its fast performance, huge battery and capable camera system.

Meanwhile, the Mate 20 Pro was shown off in October and certainly improved upon the solid foundation laid by the P20 Pro.

Mate 20 Pro came with a larger display than the P20 Pro and also had smaller bezels overall.

Additionally, the handset also swapped out the latter’s monochrome camera for a wide-angle system that we found more useful and unique at Express.co.uk.

The Mate 20 Pro also came with a huge 4,200mAh battery that we said had the best life on any smartphone when we published our review.

While both the P20 Pro and the Mate 20 Pro were critically acclaimed when they released, it appears they have also been incredibly popular with consumers.

Market analyst Canalys recently published a new report that insisted Chinese smartphone manufacturers occupied a record 32 percent market share in Europe last year.

The firm added Huawei in particular grew by 54 percent in the period and saw 42.5million shipments.

Moreover, it was noted the tech giant had a 23.6 percent market share in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Such growth was said to have occurred when smartphone shipments as a whole were down four percent in 2018.

Moreover, in the fourth quarter of the period shipments were claimed to have experienced a decline of two percent.

Discussing its findings, Canalys said: “Canalys estimates show that European smartphone shipments fell 4 percent in 2018 to 197 million units.

“In Q4 2018, shipments fell 2 percent to 57 million, though Chinese vendors gained significantly. Samsung remained the largest vendor in 2018 but its shipments were down over 10 percent at 61.6 million units.

“Apple was down 6 percent but clung onto second place with 42.8 million units shipped.

“Huawei was the stand-out vendor, growing 54 percent with 42.5 million shipments. Relative newcomers Xiaomi and HMD Global grew strongly and were fourth and fifth respectively.”

Huawei sells a variety of devices across Europe, but last year its two flagship handsets were the P20 Pro and the Mate 20 Pro.

Both are surely to credit for the company’s recently-announced achievement.
