Substitutes: Janssen, Rose, Wanyama, Vorm, Walker-Peters, Llorente, Skipp
ORIGINAL STORY: Man City will be hoping to not only extract revenge on Tottenham today, but also keep pace with Liverpool who are currently top of the Premier League table.
Pep Guardiola’s side are second in current standings with 83 points after 33 games played.
However, they could leapfrog Liverpool, at least momentarily, who currently have 85 points.
It is worth noting Liverpool have played one extra game than the Manchester side, meaning the latter can take home the title if they win all their remaining ties.
Speaking ahead of the lunchtime clash, Guardiola stated he does not think either team’s style of play is going to change despite there being only a short break since the Champions League fixture.
He said; “I don’t think it will change. Both teams are going to attack.
“Them in their way, long balls to Llorente, Moura, second balls, set pieces, the people up front, [and] we are going to attack.
“They’re an incredible top team but we are going to try.”
Liverpool remain in the Champions League and will have to face Spanish giants Barcelona in the semi-finals.
Despite Man City having extra time off when their title rivals are competing for European glory, Guardiola does not believe this will affect the intense Premier League title race.
He said: “No advantage at this stage. In November and December when you have more games like Liverpool went out of both cups early, we played nine or 10 more.
“But now at this stage of the season, it isn’t any influence with the rest.
“It was a fact that we didn’t have time to prepare for specific things against Tottenham, after Brighton [in the FA Cup semi-final], we played in more competitions, they had more time.
“But we played four competitions and now that’s the situation we’ve had and we’ve done it really well, I don’t have any complaints about that.”
