MacBook update as new features and lower price announced by Apple

Apple has just announced some very good news for MacBook fans.

The US technology firm has revealed some updates to its Air and Pro machines plus a new lower price.

If it’s the MacBook Air you are looking to buy then this ultra-portable PC now gets a True Tone Retina display which adjusts the colour depending on the light around you.

This makes looking at the screen much easier on your eyes and is a welcomed addition to this popular laptop.

Along with that screen update, Apple has also reduced the price with things now starting from £1,099.

If you are a student then the Air gets even cheaper with the ‘Back to School’ promotion even including a pair of qualifying Beats headphones for free.

It’s not just the Air that has had a reboot in this latest Apple refresh with the entry-level MacBook Pro getting the 8th-generation quad-core processors, making it two times more powerful than before.

It also now features the clever interactive Touch Bar and Touch ID.

Apple’s True Tone Retina display and the T2 Security Chip are also packed inside its aluminium body.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro starts from £1,299 and is also available as part of the ‘Back to School’ offer.

“College students love the Mac — it’s the notebook they rely on from the dorm room to the classroom, and the No. 1 choice among higher education students,” said Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac Product Marketing.

“With a lower student price for MacBook Air and the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro with faster performance, Touch Bar and Touch ID at a lower price for students, there’s never been a better time to bring a Mac to college.”
