HSBC DOWN – UPDATE ONE: The HSBC UK Twitter account has confirmed that HSBC mobile and online banking services are back online now.
They tweeted: “Our Online & Mobile Banking services are now available again. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
ORIGINAL: HSBC down reports are flocking in with users of the internet banking app being hit by an outage today.
Independent outage monitor Down Detector has received hundreds of reports of HSBC down.
Out of those affected some 63 per cent of HSBC customers were experiencing internet banking issues.
While 23 per cent were having trouble with the HSBC mobile banking app and 13 per cent were experiencing website trouble.
At the peak of the outage Down Detector registered more than 1,100 reports of HSBC down.
Express.co.uk has contacted HSBC for comment and asked if a fix is in the works.
As the issue hit HSBC users flocked to Twitter to report issues with the high street bank’s internet service.
One user tweeted: “I’m having issues logging in on both mobile and web”.
And another posted: “@HSBC_UK log in via the app or online is not available, how long will these services be down?”
One added: “@HSBC_UK @HSBC your online banking is down. Is there an ETA with fixing this???”
And another wrote: “@HSBC_UK Is internet banking completely down? I get a system error on the app and the website.
“Do you have a timeframe for it being back?”
Responding to the reports, the official HSBC UK Twitter posted: “Our Online & Mobile Banking services are currently unavailable.
“We’re really sorry and are working hard to fix this.
“You can check back here for updates or if your query is urgent please call us on 03457 404 404.”
