GTA 6 may not make an appearance on Google’s new Stadia console, after all.

Rockstar parent company Take-Two recently suggested that the company would bring its new game releases to Google Stadia.

That’s according to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, who praised the console when talking to investors.

“You know the promise of being able to sign on to a service with virtually no barriers, without a box in between, and being able to play our games on any device whatsoever around the world, and to do it with low latency, well that’s very compelling if that can be delivered, and the folks at Google minimally have said it will be delivered and will be delivered in relatively short order,” he said.

“Conceptually we want to be where the consumer is, and we’ll support new entrants and we are a believer in streaming services.

“Again, you know we need to have business models that make sense for us. So far, we’re pretty optimistic.”

Zelnick’s comments gave fans hope that GTA 6 would get a release date on Google Stadia when it launches.

The only problem is that according to supposed leaked Google Stadia specs, the console may not be quite up to scratch.

In an illuminating post on TechSpot, it’s claimed that the Google Stadia will be powered by first-generation AMD Vega GPU architecture.

The article suggests that if Stadia’s GPU is based on the Vega 56, it might struggle to stream in 4K at 60 frames-per-second.

Of course, this is currently just speculation, and there’s a chance that Google will use a custom version of the GPU.

Google also has the benefit of being able to upgrade and evolve its technology as it grows in popularity.

GTA 6 rumours have been picking up a lot of steam lately, as fans clamour for a sequel to one of the most popular games of all time.

The floodgates opened after a shock rumour emerged claiming GTA 6 would have a 2020 release date in 2020.

The same rumours suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 would launch as a timed exclusive on Sony’s next-gen PS5 console.

According to an anonymous post on Pastebin, Sony allegedly paid “big money” to get timed exclusivity for GTA 6.

There’s even talk of GTA 6 making an appearance at this year’s E3 gaming expo, although this seems unlikely.
