Google has just announced the launch of its new Android Q update which will replace the current Android 9 Pie OS which now comes pre-installed on many devices.

This release is the first of many beta builds which will be pushed out over the coming months before an official launch later this year.

However, those wanting to give it try early could be disappointed as is currently only available on the Pixel range of phones.

Google’s own-brand devices are some of the best if you want a pure Android experience and it seems they are also worth owning if you want access to the latest features from the internet firm.

Included in the Android Q upgrade are improved security and privacy features which include being able to limit access to your location especially when they are not in use.

Apps will also find it harder to gain access to things such as photos, videos, and audio.

Other extras include faster sharing of content, improved settings and dynamic depth format for photos which should improve bokeh-style effects.

Along with some neat new features Google is also getting ready for the explosion in foldable phones by including native support for these bendy devices.

Huawei and Samsung have both announced devices that can physically fold in half with Mate X and Galaxy Fold launching later this year.

If you own a Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel and Pixel 3 XL you can access this update now.
