A new Fortnite live event is being cooked up by Epic Games and is scheduled to begin in a few hours.
This will be the next major thing to happen in Season 7 and could lead to some big changes.
The event has a timer running on TVs in-game that suggests a big Ice Storm is coming to the game.
This will be viewable during live games, meaning fans can watch on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mobile and Nintendo Switch.
Here are some of the rumours and reports the Express has found before the big Fortnite event.
FORTNITE – WHAT JUST HAPPENED?
Fortnite Season 7 is getting a big new event that is likely going to change the rules of the game a little.
The timers show that the next Fortnite live event will kick off at 7pm UK time (GMT).
From the most recent reports, the event will be based around the Ice king emerging from the Sphere currently floating above the island.
A thick fog is expected to be part of the show, although it’s unclear exactly what will happen.
Leaked footage shows the Ice King performing some kind of magic spell to bring havoc to the map, so that might be part of the event.
The other big thing that is expected to be part of the new event is an upcoming LTM called Ice Storm.
ICE STORM CHALLENGES
The Ice Storm looks set to happen in-game as part of the Fortnite event and as some kind of new LTM, or in-game map event, after it.
From what has been found by data miners, the new limited time mode will be a lot like Fortnitemares.
The monsters will be reskinned to have an icy look, with crossbow vending machines returning to the map.
From what has been shared online, the new Ice Storm event could end on Tuesday, January 29th, 2019, around 11pm GMT.
The other massive part of the new event is the new Ice Storm challenges, which leaked earlier this week.
According to the Daily Star, these are expected to function like the 14 Days of Fortnite, offering players new challenges each day. It’s also believed that a new Winter Glider and a Blue Metallic Wrap will be among the cosmetic rewards.
Every day will see new loot added to the game, available to earn by completing the day’s latest challenge.
However, it should be noted that these remain leaks at this time and could, therefore, be wrong.
The return of reskinned cube monsters seems pretty likely; however, Epic Games may have other plans.
Will the event include a big boss battle involving the Ice King? Or will fans get a big light show and some new challenges?
Fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
